In recent years, in order to improve the production efficiency of the paper industry, the paper machine is developing with high speed and wide width. In addition, in order to reduce the downtime caused by unexpected failures, the bearings used in paper machines are required to have higher reliability.

As the high-temperature steam passes through the roller, the bearing used for the drying roller of paper machinery should be in a high-temperature environment. For this reason, the bearing will be stripped early due to insufficient formation of lubricating oil film, creep caused by aging due to long-term high-temperature use, and the temperature difference between the shaft and the inner ring will increase the matching stress, resulting in cracks in the inner ring of the bearing. In particular, the inner ring crack will cause a major accident leading to shutdown. As a countermeasure to these problems, the high hardness and long life "TL (tough & long life) bearing" with improved inner ring cracking resistance and dimensional stability at high temperature was developed through special carbonitriding treatment of the material. This TL bearing has good reliability among similar products. As a special bearing for the hydraulic cylinder roll of the drying section, it has established a stable position in the market.
